so much controversy surrounds this film and i can totally understand some criticisms but im sorry, everyone who thinks this is pro blue lives matter and gives rockwell's character this big redemption arc is so wrong, you literally couldn't be further from the truth. it's gritty, it's unapologetic and it shows these old, broken down people with no moral compass exactly how it is and i respect the fuck out of that. to me, this films only crime is not being another hour longer... i need a payoff and I'm never going to get it. burwell's score is incredibly beautiful too, probably my favorite of 2017.
