I don't know what to say. I don't feel like I actually have anything to say. I'm simultaneously really impressed and kind of disappointed. The rhythm, tone, and style of the film are fantastic. The way it ebbs and flows, creating a fluid, languid, poetic feeling that somehow makes for a film that is both oddly beautiful and oddly intense is a testament to how extraordinarily this film is written, shot, acted, and directed. It's so detail-oriented, so strangely thrilling, and so methodically told that it never failed to keep my attention. But that ending...I don't know about that ending. It was kind of brilliant, but maybe just not the kind of thing I was looking for. I'll definitely have to rewatch it because there's a lot of thematic and commentative content in the film to unpack and dissect, especially as it nears its end, but, at the moment, the ending didn't quite do it for me. That doesn't change the fact, though, that I absolutely loved the majority of it, and that the ending definitely has the potential of really growing on me, especially with a rewatch.
