After my first watch of 𝐵𝑜𝑜𝑘𝑠𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑡, I was genuinely disappointed. Since then I’ve been pushing away a rewatch but I can happily say I should’ve rewatched it a while ago.
𝐵𝑜𝑜𝑘𝑠𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑡 displays many subtle and not-so-subtle messages about life and although it may remind some of 𝑆𝑢𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑏𝑎𝑑, it remains original enough to keep the audience entertained throughout.
It’s emotional, well shot, well-acted, has a great soundtrack and overall very enjoyable film. The age demographic is what kills it. Chances are if you’re not 15 - 25, you won’t enjoy it that much as it becomes much less relatable, especially for younger ages.
