The Bride of Frankenstein

The Bride of Frankenstein ★★★★

“It’s the perfect night for mystery and horror. The air itself is filled with monsters.”

It’s grandiose, spooky, and builds upon everything that’s exciting about the first Frankenstein installment. The little tiny people segment is so bizarrely charming, I can’t help but find it absolutely hilarious. Surprisingly few scenes with our stars, the Monster and his Bride, but we still get solid moments that show off his humanity, like that scene with that nice old Blind Man. Something I’ve always appreciated about this era of horror is the way that the darkness and terror (relatively, for the time anyway) is always contrasted with some kind of compassionate moral. Poor guy. I can fix him :\
