Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World ★★★★★

Peter Weir is brilliant. That's all I can say. This film is so well written and Weir directs the hell out of this film and I felt so encapsulated within the story that I didn't want to leave.

The score is gorgeous and makes the audience travel back in time with it's glorious use of classical strings.

The cinematography is absolutely stunning as well. I'm not sure who actually shot this film but they did a fantastic job. Aubrey and Maturin are two beautiful lead characters that are so easy to fall in love with, you can't help but root for them.

I can clearly say this is THE most underappreciated film of all time. The way Weir structures this film as a cat and mouse, battle of wits between the two captains is brilliant.

I don't have a negative thing to say. This is easily Weir's best film and I will say that more people need to see this to truly understand all of my ramblings above. Why is nobody talking about this film?
