Chef 2014
This is a feel good family fun film. An excellent display of story development with proper attention. The beginning is thorough and gives time to connect with the characters/relationships/struggles. Many films lack necessary character and story development. Without a proper beginning, a story (of fulfillment especially), can never reach full potential.
A favorite from Jon Favreau. Great directing and great acting. More Scarlett Johansson though?
Plus, who doesn’t like a film with good food?

Prisoners 2013
I tend to be quite reserved with my 5 star ratings but wow! This absolutely deserves all the stars. The acting in this film is superb all around. Jake Gyllenhaal is a GOAT so no surprise there. Hugh Jackman is great, and Paul Dano is amazing at weird roles.
The story line and script are engaging, I did not feel the long run time once throughout. You can try to guess what will happen but it is never obvious. Excellent story and wonderfully done.
A must watch for everyone!
