I've always said Hugo Boss makes the best movie costumes. Colour me entertained, I could have lived without the German versions of Beatles & Bowie but this wasn't the ADL funded, anal political correctness-fest I'd feared from the trailer & synopsis. The young actors playing Jojo and his chubby mate Yorki totally nailed it, I could have watched those two for another hour easily. So did Sam Rockwell hamming it up as the Col Klink (Hogans Heroes) like captain. Sadly Taika Waititi's turn as the imaginary Hitler wasn't so on the mark, though he did a decent job on the directing side. And Scarlett Johansson and the kid playing the prototype Anne Frank merely added the schmaltz. Come on you haters, you musta laughed at the German Shepherd gag and Jojo'n'Yorki constantly fluffing their duties/lessons.
