If anyone could make a Nazi comedy work as well as it should, it'd be Taika Waititi. Jojo Rabbit is such a hilarious, well written, and beautifully directed film that kept me smiling and engaged throughout the entire runtime. What I loved the most about Jojo Rabbit was the heart and soul found in the story and characters. The movie is consistently funny, but the dramatic and tragic moments with themes of humanity and discovering yourself really elevate this film from being a standard comedy. At this point, Waititi can do no wrong, and is one of the best filmmakers today.
