The Nice Guys

The Nice Guys ★★★★½

Ever run into a movie that you want to call amazing, but for some reason you can't do that and you just don't know why you can't call it that? Well, that's The Nice Guys for me. I have some ideas why I can't give it the perfect 5/5 I really want to, such as the sort of weak ending or the plot that could've maybe been tweaked a little bit to make it somehow better, but I'm not really sure. It's a mystery to me. I'll probably have to see this again and I actually wouldn't mind doing that again as soon as possible.

Anyways, what I really want to say is that I seriously haven't had been this entertained in a movie theater in quite awhile. And yes, Russell Crowe/Maximus, I was entertained! (I honestly didn't plan that out before writing this review, I just noticed what I said in the previous sentence and added this) The sensational humor, the intriguing and mysterious storyline, and the fantastic performances are all to die for. Almost everything in this movie just works perfectly.

Similar to my review for Drive, Ryan Gosling should get more praises for his acting than his looks. This guy is an amazing actor. Russell Crowe isn't bad either and the chemistry between the duo works so perfectly.
