Matt’s review published on Letterboxd:
An extremely delicate piece of work from Spike Jonze, finding love in what isn't physical but rather in humanism. 'Her' is beautiful thematically as well as visually, cinematography here definitely stands out and so does the tender performance from Joaquin Phoenix. Supporting members including the voice talent of Scarlett Johansson are all pretty good although not always necessary such as Chris Pratt's character. The score is one that falls in line with 'Call Me By Your Name' from 2017, the both are similar in that they fit the tone of the films extremely well and simply just on their own they still remain to be top tier. 'Her' is a piece that I went into with massive expectations, and while I didn't completely get what I expected, the ending is one of the most heartbreaking and gorgeous of the past few years.
