    ★★★★½

I know we all wanted Ryan Gosling to win the best supporting actor at the Oscars this year but I think we should all switch team to Charles Melton now- what a terrific actor man.
Love the score and the editing. The framing choices and the screenplay are so fucked up and eerie (in a good way).
Had an absolute blast seeing it in theaters.
Just Todd Haynes, Natalie Portman and Julian Moore at the top of their game.

  • Dicks: The Musical

    Dicks: The Musical

Dicks: The Musical is a result of a material written by smug people who spent way too much time on Reddit, being brought to life by boomer executives at A24 who watched too much Tiktok "to understand the youth".
This is just a dumb raunchy humor musical movie that belongs to the 2000s. Some people I guess are into it, but if you check my rating on Babylon, Beau Is Afraid and Adam Sandler comedies I think you can tell…

  • South Park: Joining the Panderverse

    South Park: Joining the Panderverse

    ★★

"Both sides are baaaad"- tell that to Rachel Zegler who got bullied for no real reason at all.

It's not the worst thing from South Park and there's an attempt to make fun of the ppl screaming "Disney made everything woke" but it's half assed. It feels like Trey Parker and Matt Stone just watched too many Nostalgia Critic and YMS videos and were like: "hmm The Quartering and The Critical Drinker sure are cringe but you know these movies…

It's really funny that Universal paid 400 million dollars to distribute an anti-abortion propaganda.

I mean, I can't watch Killers of the Flower Moon yet but at least I can rewatch this banger until it's possible.

Thank God for critics and letterboxd because the marketing for this was pretty. Like if it weren't for the rave it got at SXSW and for critics like Yhara Zayd I might have skipped this. The only reason I didn't watch it until now was pretty much because this did not get any distribution in my country- but Roman Polanski's new garbage is getting a distribution instead, yayyyyy (this is obviously sarcasm). I really wish I'd have seen this in…

    Love at First Sight

    ★★

I apologize to the Love On The Spectrum producers, apparently using ASMR narration that explains the date participants' hobbies and fears was never unique to them it's a new weird thing millenials and zoomers like as evident by this movie lol.
Also why is this shot like a TV commercial?

  • Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie

Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie

    ★½

Cat Noir's parents look like sliblings.

(It's still better than Teenage Kraken I guess because at least the animation is solid but the singing sucks.)

  • Barbie

    ★★★★½

    I...
I can't believe I'm saying this but Barbie was one of the best comedies I've seen in a long fucking time.
Greta Gerwig to Hollywood is like Radiohead to modern mainstream pop-rock, just bringing in progressive left messages in the most sophisticated and entertaining ways possible
Also, see it on the big screen, the visuals are phenomenal- like the editing and the framing play such an important part in the comedy

Edit: Ok I honestly start to question my…

First of all, Phil Lord, Amy Pascal, and Sony are assholes. I think these people read way too much about Robert Altman rewriting stuff while filming they forgot it's different with animation.

Anyway, thanks to the hard work of all the animators that got fucked by Phil Lord, the movie looks incredible. I give the credit to them only- they're the reason it looks stunning.
I really do wish I'd have had time to see the movie before the Vulture…

  • Asteroid City

    Asteroid City

    ★★★

A little derivative of the same storytelling choices of his other movies with the play framing thing but the sets and the alien were cool.
