Frank Sinatra threatened Mia Farrow with divorce if she didn’t quit Rosemary’s Baby to co-star in his film The Detective. When she refused, Sinatra followed through on his threat and divorced her. Both movies opened on June 12th 1968. The following week Farrow tried to take out a 2 page ad in Variety with the box office grosses of Rosemary’s Baby on one page and The Detective on the other.
