Shane McAvoy’s review published on Letterboxd:
I forgot you can’t see a Wes Anderson movie opening weekend in LA without audiences tripping over themselves to guffaw at every joke. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a lot of good jokes, but everyone here sure loves to let you know they get it. Not much to get imo! LA needs to chill out.
Thought the movie was very pretty and very fine. Will revisit and probably like it much more when I’m in a better mood. It’s a me problem. All good. Could have watched a whole movie about the Benicio del Toro story. Very happy Jeffrey Wright found a director that lets him go freak mode.
