• Christmas from Hollywood

    Christmas from Hollywood

Essentially just narration over footage they didn't have to pay for, which includes some trailers of Christmas movies throughout the decades, footage from Hollywood Christmas parades, the red carpet to the premier of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and clips of public domain movies, tv specials, and cartoons. Seemed like the more infamous the movie was, the more likely it was to be featured in the documentary. It doesn't have anything to say, but it's nice to see the clips from Christmas specials of the '50s and early '60s. The highlight for me were all of the festive TV ads with classic Hollywood-era actors.

  • Time Is My Enemy

    Time Is My Enemy

    ★★½

A tense little B-Noir that bungles the ending by tying more of its ends than were ever loosened to begin with. Beyond returning our characters to a place of safety, it almost ridicules the notion that they could ever have been threatened to begin with.

A classic film fan could make an argument that it wouldn't be Christmas without Judy Garland, but, that being said, it wouldn't be much of a Christmas with Mickey Rooney there.

Not a big fan of when TCM messes up the timing on their schedule, making yer recording cut off during its climax. Big ups to okru.

One of those movies that makes me wonder if I ought to reconsider my view towards Michael Curtiz
