For the time this came out, I can understand how this could be completely revolutionary. But in the modern day, it’s a bit rote. The entire premise is so ingrained in pop culture that it doesn’t have the same impact it once did (though the philosophical viewpoints are still interesting). As for the action, it was objectively well made, well shot, and well choreographed. Unfortunately my eyes glazed over with every action scene. All in all, it’s just a bit sad that I couldn’t get the most out of this movie. It’s just too much a product of its time.
