i finally got to see the directors cut today and it did not disappoint. there was so much added context to dani and christanโ€™s relationship that wasnโ€™t put in the theatrical cut. this movie is so special to me as Iโ€™ve been through such an awful trauma myself and this movie makes me feel so cathartic. the last two minutes leave me with chills down my back and absolutely breathless everytime. i might not watch this movie again for a while now. i think i just need to sit with what iโ€™ve seen and try and dissect everything. on my third viewing there were even more little things i noticed that i hasnโ€™t noticed in my other screenings. florence pugh is the backbone to the movie and she deserves all the attention and awards in the world. itโ€™s a shame this movie will probably be snubbed at awards season but i know in the bottom of my heart that this is one of the best movies ever.
