If you've seen one exorcism/possession movie, you've pretty much seen them all now. The genre has run stale lately and the last few years haven't been kind to it.
There is nothing new here and the film hopes to be shockingly scandalous by using the Vatican in the title when it should actually just be entitled The Exorcism of Angela Holmes as it is that unoriginal and only about half of it actually pertains to the Vatican itself.
Wanting to tell a life story of poet C.K. Williams, The Color of Time (also known as Tar) believes it is interestingly adaptating 11 of the poet's poems (from his book that shares its name with the title of this film) to give an audience a "feel/understanding" of who the man was.
