Kicking off scary movie month with one I hadn’t watched for awhile. While this will always be considered a classic, I did find it to be not as enjoyable as I found it to be when I was younger. I think I’ve grown to expect more now as I found many parts of it to be silly and gimmicky. For the 80s this was good but 35 years later I think it could be done in a way that is more straight up scary. It doesn’t have the same feel as Halloween or Texas Chainsaw does. I guess the idea of Freddy is scary enough that you don’t need the shock and terror of him being completely bad ass and unstoppable.
