Clinging to something that’s dead because you are not done with it. A fairy tale (perverse wish-fulfillment fantasy) with the structure of a breakup nightmare married to the structure of a folk horror film. It strips you of your defenses and opens you. Pay attention to the periphery prophetic details (background production design). In the end Dani is finally able to liberate herself from her 'dead weight' and she finds a new family.
