The Nice Guys 2016
So perfect. What a wonderful film. I wasn't expecting to love the comedy duo of Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe this much; they had genuine charisma. And Shane Black's script... so dense, so funny. I had such a blast. I'm devasted that audiences didn't come out for it though. We really need more movies like this... less cowabunga.

Swiss Army Man 2016
One of my favorite films of the year! Soooo good, so funny, so original, so dark. So much more than just a fart joke.

The Jungle Book 2016
I agree with Devin Faraci. Mowgli should have been killed by the true hero Shere Khan

Captain America: Civil War 2016
Really fun, should be a huge movie. The new Spiderman is terrific, can't wait for his solo film!

Sausage Party 2016
I Saw the work in progress at Sxsw. I fell in love. Subversive, a heady mix of smart and really dumb, and raunchy as hell. Comes out August 12th. Look for food specials at the Alamo.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2014
Guardians was WAY better than I was initially hoping or expecting. Apart from Apes we've had some disappointing genre films this summer. Guardians is the high water mark. Smart, unique, thrilling and wickedly funny all the way through. I really hope this is a smash hit so that James Gunn can continue to dictate the look and feel of Marvel for years to come.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier 2014
Like not love here. I like this incarnation of the Captain America mythology but the storytelling, yeesh, screenwriting amateur hour. I want comic book movies that aren't paint-by-numbers.
