I, Tonya

I, Tonya ★★★

This is fine, but has an overbearingness in its constant "look at me!" approach that gets exhausting after awhile. Someone on Twitter compared this to David O. Russell, and folks, let me tell you when I heard that, I couldn't stop thinking about it for the whole movie. A lot of the jokier aspects feel forced and unnecessary, like how many times do we have to see Shawn eating? We get it. Ultimately, I'm glad to know the ins and the outs of the story, but I longed for the restraint of something like ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD. The soundtrack also felt very David O. Russell, which is just, ugh.
