Pretty intense, effective and extremely well acted. That said the somewhat one-dimensional emotional register of the piece does get a little bit tiring even at a brisk. 84 minutes

Just about as derivative as it gets (especially with how unfortunately wrote the monster as mental health/ grief metaphor now is) but actually fairly solid at the series of nuts and bolts it’s doing. In large parts thanks to strong central performances and effective sound design.

There apparently continues to be a market for putting these D/E grade European animations in UK cinemas while Luca and Mitchell’s VS Machines are relegated to streaming. When graded on that scale this is actually one of the more inoffensive efforts (much as it still looks as atrocious as one might expect.)
