Having read the book, this is actually nothing like the original story, which was a good one I would like to have seen made into a movie. Overall the acting was sub-par from some good actors. Particularly Michael B. Jordan. He didn't seem to know the direction he wanted to take the role. Comic book action star or cerebral future CIA agent.
I guess I see why they felt they needed to re-enact the wiretap transcripts, but it just makes it super cheesy. Most importantly, they don’t tell you anything new that you wouldn’t know from a peripheral understanding of the scandal. Did Rick Singer actually provide legit services to the hundreds of other clients? Were these 50 parents all the ones that cheated or only the ones they charged? Tell us more about the kids. Did they know? What has this done to their college career? Their life? I already know about Olivia Jade. Should have been so much better.
Interesting topic - missed the delivery. Felt too much like hearing embellished 'cool' stories about the park and not enough actual real information. Also, way too much Chris Gethard. Every story from him was clearly exaggerated with hyperbole for comedic effect and it missed the mark every time.
