Just realized that the last shot of Janelle Monae is composed and framed to be similar to the Mona Lisa.

Movies! I love ‘em!

This may be the most cuttingly precise film yet from David Fincher, a filmmaker whose defining factor is, indeed, that very concept of precision. 

While this doesn’t necessarily equate to The Killer being Fincher’s best film, it sure is entertaining to watch the master put on a technical clinic.

That fella sure was a freak!

I’m going to be hearing Glenn Howerton’s rageful fits in my nightmares for years to come.

(Watched on a plane on my iPhone. The irony).

Not my favorite Taika (I’m a Taika defender), but it’s a harmless 90 minutes and Michael Fassbender is putting in work. Also, the emotional release it builds up to in the third act hits exactly where it should.

It’s painful being a North Carolina sports fan and consistently watching the best athletes in the country come from my home state, only to see our professional teams die a slow, miserable death every year.

It’s great when blockbusters (1) are allowed to be character studies, and (2) have main characters who play folk music.

“You think you’re such a GREAT MAN because you have BOATS!”

I continue to be amazed by Ridley Scott’s longevity as one of the best large-scale filmmakers to ever do it.

One of the best father/son movies of all time. 👨🏻‍🦰
