Adam Todd’s review published on Letterboxd:
It gets to the point sometimes when you literally can’t believe what is happening on screen. The filmmakers made some rash decisions on this. In fact just about all of the choices were rash. Why was the entire film so heinous to look at? What was going on with the colours? And quite frankly why is it called Speed 2: Cruise Control? Such a funny title that in it’s nonsense somehow makes perfect sense. It was probably written around the title. Anything Willem Dafoe said made me so happy; such an over the top character that randomly comes off with hilarious quips. Entirely unconvincing leech subplot. All the subplots were nonsense. The plot was nonsense. It was fantastic.
“How are you going to stop me now my friend” was brilliant for some reason I can’t explain. Raucous.
