Tom dePerto’s review published on Letterboxd:
Exactly the type of film I'd watch at lunchtime in the theater next to my college, right before my afternoon classes. I hope Netflix doesn't abandon the idea of a sequel, because this is a pretty fun franchise-starter with amusing fourth-wall breaking and brilliant production design.
Millie Bobby Brown is fantastic in this, and Henry Cavill's refreshing turn as Sherlock Holmes deserves a spin-off of his own.
The mystery itself isn't very interesting, and the film drags on for quite a while, but the tone and the characters managed to keep me in it until the very end. And the film's feminist vein strikes hard - great screenplay.
