Pulse 2001
Kurosawa's use of screens is so clever and genuinely unnerving. Also, this is a movie that so clearly understands the internet as something that can either connect people or isolate them that the fact that it came out in 2001 seems unbelievable. It understands the power of the internet far better than several of today's movies about being online do.
