Tom Velasco’s review published on Letterboxd:
So much of this film was perfect. The acting, cinematography, atmospheric and thematic elements...I can see why many people have a high regard for this movie.
Unfortunately, several key sequences had the entire theater rolling in the aisles laughing at the absurdity of it all. This exact same thing happened at the end of Hereditary, but was far more widely disbursed throughout this film. There’s a fine line between the terrifying and the absurd and Ari Aster fails to walk that line here.
