For a long time, I thought there was no way I could possibly write about my favorite film of all time because I felt like there was nothing I could say that would do it justice. Then I realized, you know, that it doesn’t really matter what I say about it because this film speaks for itself. It is a perfect movie in every way and everything about it is well, perfect. The direction, the camerawork, the score, the lighting,…

Love, love, love this! So glad I got it in before the end of the year because it’s definitely one of the best movies I’ve seen in a while and best of 2021 for sure.

As many horror movies as I watch, it might be odd to know that I really don’t pay attention to what’s coming out and what’s new. I used to be 110% on top of every bit of horror movie news until I realized that the…

Well this was just adorable and quite frankly more delightful than I ever expected it to be. Low on competence but high on determination (and probably some cocaine) is what this is and friends, those are the best kind of movies. When a bunch of people with little to no experience and/or credibility get together with a dream they all believe in well that’s more endearing to me than anything else you could watch.

LOTS of severed limbs that look…

    The Toxic Avenger Part II

Like part 1, this sequel brings back some major late night cable tv vibes and that’s just about one of the only things that still gives me a warm fuzzy feeling without chemicals.

This is basically a very adult live-action cartoon. It’s so silly, but there are also plenty of moments of heavy gore, nudity, and some unexpectedly impressive explosions. My favorite thing about the Toxic Avenger is that he was submersed in toxic chemicals and his head is terribly…

Absolutely the best miniseries I have ever seen. Possibly the best miniseries ever made and yes I am absolutely serious.

Everything in this was the best choice. The whole thing continuously impressed me, but that ending to episode 5 slapped my ass right across the room. Across the goddamn room. The entirety of episode 6 should and will be examined in film schools from here on. Episode 10 gave me so many intense feelings including some that I usually don’t…

This was much better than I was expecting it to be! I can’t believe so many people are comparing this to the original when not even the actual original sequel tried to do that? Like did y’all forget that Tobe himself knew there was no point trying to recreate the tone of his own work so he went in the completely opposite direction?

There were plenty of terrific tense moments and more than a couple of scenes that totally caught…
