I can't recommend this in good faith. Racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, fatphobic, just really repugnant for long stretches. But deeply weird and fascinating and oddly effecting. The hollowness of capitalist american masculinity examined through a conceit that relies on editing and digital interfaces, how could I not go for it on some level. The most genuinely strange Sandler vehicle and very moving despite never really ceasing to be repugnant. If you ever wanted to see what an Obayashi movie would be like without a conscience, this is it.
