Tristan Quinn’s review published on Letterboxd:
This was a solid 4.5 then the final 15 minutes happened and it pushed this to a perfect score. David Lowery made me rethink my whole rating system. After watching A Ghost Story I had to bump down 17 of my 5 star movies, so it's only fitting that my last two movies that I've given that perfect score to are his.
I was in a trance while watching this, I was absolutely mesmerized by everything that happened. Anytime the camera moved I physically felt the shift, I don't even know how to describe it. The cinematography as a whole was stunning, every shot carried so much weight, having it all be shot in Ireland definitely helped. As good as the cinematography was, the score might have been better. I know this will get overlooked come awards season but Daniel Hart 100% deserves a nomination here.
David Lowery is slowly creeping up my favorite director list. What he did with The Green Knight is what I look for in a movie. There was more than just what was going on on the surface. The journey of one's self was beautifully told with all the themes balanced perfectly. Even after the movie finished and I got home, I can't stop thinking about it. A masterful work of art.
