I was expecting more of a drama, but it's just a straight up comedy. And while it did manage to get a few yucks out of me, overall it's really just the most bland and generic execution they could have come through with for this great premise. Sad that among all these veteran actors, Zach Braff is the best part of the movie. Not to mention Red Letter Media did this exact premise 15 years ago!

There Will Be Blood 2007
It's clear Paul Thomas Anderson puts a lot of value in his opening scenes. It takes balls to have your entire opening take place with zero dialogue, and it takes skill to make that opening an effective introduction to the character and the stakes. Anderson has both in spades.
Watching this movie felt like looking at a damn renaissance painting. The visuals wash over you like a dream, without being unrealistic or out of place in the real life setting.…

Tommy Wiseau's dirty finger prints are all over this. It's impossible to recreate the chaotic energy of Samurai Cop but this doesn't even come close.
