There's nothing better than a good movie on a Saturday eve.
This movie follows a swedish girl trying to become the next big thing in the US porn industry. Plot and general message is ok, that the industry can be cruel and work like a system that only cares about numbers and profits (capitalism basically), forcing people to compromise themselves and get hurt in order to get the necessary attention, so they can earn and survive.
Of course, there are more nuances to the film which can be thought provoking and…
A powerful anti-war statement from Stanley Kubrick.
I was extremely impressed with Peter Sellers' and George Scott's acting skills in this film, but most importantly, I liked how with the help of satire, it has brilliantly exposed people's nature and how subtle, yet harmful, can be their ignorance and madness.
All in all, Dr.Strangelove has been incredibly well crafted and I admire it a lot, but there's a missing piece to it which won't let me consider this film a perfect one.
The flight scenes and the launches were superbly caught in this film and I gotta admit I was impressed with the sound. These and the claustrophobic feelings it captured with them are definitely the best things about First Man.
However, even though Ryan Gosling plays just fine, I felt that he wasn't the best fit for his role. Pace could've been better at times and the movie could've been a bit less propagandist, but all in all, it is a good one.
