Song Kang-ho behind the wheel of a chauffeur vehicle really gets me going !!!!
While the underlying plot was somewhat contrived and forced in order to deliver a plethora of disturbingly cute gritty style Pokémon, the main character was well-casted and had a relatable family background. The writing from the minute Detective Pikachu came in skyrocketed with witticisms and excellent banter to swiftly carry the audience through the otherwise (justifyingly) campy storyboard. I saw this with a cute girl after having a vanilla ice cream matcha float, so I’m adding half a star because I’m not a critic I’m just a man with a phone and an app.
Really genuine writing and script, which was boosted by the chemistry of the cast and the charm of each of the characters. Some really nice shots scattered in this as well.
The characters each have their own thoughtful depth, but ultimately are all empathetic of each other and largely of others, but have their own limit of opportunism at the expense of others’ good will.
