The sixth entry in the franchise manages to hold onto the chills and spills established in part 5, while ratcheting up the brutality, gore, and violence.
Melissa Barerra and Jenna Ortega reprise their roles from part five and continue to bring their own particular brand to the franchise. 6 feels like more of a direct sequel to 5, than any of the other adjacent entries.
The plots for these things ar approaching the absurd, but the identity of the killer kept me guessing, there were some genuine horror koments, and the leads were entertaining and likeable.

Scream 4 2011
This movie succeeds where all of the previous Scream films failed, by not having Jamie Kennedy.
Otherwise this felt like exactly what was printed on the sales brochure. Soft Scream reboot, a little slicker and shinier for the new generation, and a whole new set of rules that we may or may not follow.
Probably among the cleaner looking Scream films, the script updates the cultural references but otherwise is pretty by-the-book.
Some fun exploration of fan culture and movie fans is to be had as the franchis within the franchise, STAB, seems to be going totally off the rails.

Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills 1996
A fascinating look at small town jurisprudence in the era of MTV. While far from comprehensive, the roots to such projects as the SERIAL podcast, Netflix's MAKING A MURDERER, or HBO's THE JINX are undeniable. Although it becomes clear as the film goes on (a full two-and-a-half hours) that the filmmakers are convinced of the three suspects' innocence, there is an attempt to let both sides have their say, although access to the prosecution's side of things was not as…

The Munsters 2022
Rob Zombie's The Munsters is cheap, chintzy, cheesey, cornball, and dad-joke level goofy. Which is to say it's almost entirely like watching The Munsters in 1964, and I'm pretty certain that's what Zombie was gunning for.
Watching this has the feel of watching a made-for-TV Halloween special, and by extension a pilot for a relaunched The Munsters property. Maybe that's not where this is headed, but it's a fine bit of confectionary that has no adult humor per se, but…
