Spiderman went from 'amazing' to 'ultimate', and sometimes 'superior'. But never awesome, or fantastic! Anyways, Spiderman had faced many foes in his life; Green Goblin, Doc Oct, Venom, Sandman, The Lizard, Electro, Vulture and many more.
Let's start from the first three Spiderman films, the trilogy, staring Tobey Maguire. It was also secretly dubbed the 'Green Goblin' saga where Peter's best friend Harry vows revenge on Spiderman for killing his father, unknown to him Norman Osborne experimented on himself which changed him into Spidey's arch nemesis Green Goblin. But as the trilogy concluded, Harry learned that his father ultimately gave in to his Goblin persona, which drove him to his own demise, and so finally forgave his best friend, but not sooner does he meet the same end when trying to protect his friend from Venom.
Sadly, any more films were just scrapped, possibly financial reasons. Personally, I think it's because Toby Maguire gain a bit of wait. So I heard! Shame though, because the Lizard would've been considered in the possible fourth film. Until it was considered for the reboot...
Now we move on to the two reboots starring Andrew Garfield. The sub-story is basically the mystery to what happend to Peter Parker's parents. Unfortunately, we only went far enough to the second film which explains that Oscorpe were doing shady bussinesses. And the idea of including the Sinister Six and Venom in future sequels were scrapped due to poor ratings from the second film.
Then, when all seemed lost, MCU bought the rights of Spiderman from Sony and have integrated within the Avengers and Iron Man and so on. Now, to be honest, I was rather sceptical of the new, NEW version of Spiderman; as the industry kept rebooting the Spiderman franchise, which was frustrating. But after seeing this newer version kicking ass in Captain America: Civil War, I was pretty impressed. Clearly, Tom Holland is much better than those two whats-their-names! Especially with his two standalone movies Homecoming and Far From Home. And now the release of Holland's latest No Way Home, which sees Spider-Man's secret identity revealed and so he tries to undo it. Only to open up a multiverse where Spidey has to take on familiar foes from previous Spider-Man franchises.
Bottomline, no matter who plays Spiderman, Spidey will always be our "friendly neighbourhood Spiderman"!
