Thank you for giving our precious Pussy a ride home. We love Pussy.
    Yes, we do.

Say what you want about Quentin Tarantino, the man knows how to make you walk out of a 2 hour and 40 minute movie with a huge fucking smile on your face. Very Highly Recommended.

It’s like I’ve been in a dream where I was really invested in the Zack Snyder cut of the Justice League.

Why I Watched: If you'd have told me a year ago that I'd be seeing Barbie on the big screen before Oppenheimer this weekend, I'd have said you're out of your mind. But I have great faith in Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, and there's been absolutely nothing but positive buzz on this for weeks.

"I think you're a moth. Quiet, harmless, attracted to shiny things. Pattering against the window, desperate to get in."

Why to Watch: Director Emerald Fennell's last feature, Promising Young Woman, was one of the best films of 2020. Her follow-up, a tale of class envy and intrigue featuring Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi and Rosamund Pike, is playing in theaters now.

How It Went: The simple read on this is as a modern retelling of The Talented Mr. Ripley, and the…

You cut well, but the best sword is kept in its sheath.

Why to Watch: This film by Akira Kurosawa is the director's only true sequel and stars the amazing Toshiro Mifune as the titular "lone wolf" ronin who gets drawn into a samurai clan's internal conflict. Watched on Criterion Channel as part of my 2023 challenge.

How It Went: Following up a film as great as Yojimbo is a pretty tough task, but this does it justice. Mifune plays…

We're in love. We just want to be together. What's wrong with that?

This movie is like pushing a magic reset button on how it feels to be young, in love, and part of something real for the first time in your life. Sam and Suzy are all of us, fighting against seemingly the whole rest of the world to find our own happiness. As a matter of course for any Wes Anderson film, the production design is absolutely mesmerizing…

There is a silence where hath been no sound / There is a silence where no sound may be / In the cold grave, under the deep deep sea.

A woman wrote and directed this film, so I guess any problems I have with the concept of a woman prostituting herself for a piano and then falling in love with the man who purchased her for that price are due to my own ignorance. But, regardless... Eww. I have no…
