Tom Spearing’s review published on Letterboxd:
Korg and Miek slay me every single time.
[SPOILER] Taika has earned my undying respect for rounding up the sidekicks from the first two Thor films—who no one particularly cared about—in order to kill them all off without so much as a second thought. You’ve got to admire the audacity.
Up there with GotG at the top of the Marvel rankings, because it celebrates its goofiness and doesn’t take itself seriously, plus it is funnier than half the other MCU films put together. It also contains quite possibly the greatest use of Led Zeppelin’s 'Immigrant Song' that I’ve come across in a movie to date (though I’m sure fans of School of Rock and the opening credits to Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo would argue otherwise).
Aside from that particular 70s rock classic, whether intentional or not, this film easily has a more 80s-appropriate soundtrack than WW1984.
