Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone ★★★★½

Lucky that my theater chain had the chance to be part of the movie's 20th anniversary event. Outside of seeing Deathly Hallows Part 2 in 4DX, I have never seen the older movies in theaters, let along the one that started it all. It was jarring, but man, that experience is oh so worth it

To be honest, I'm not that into the Harry Potter movies that much. Outside of my cousin, who's a huge fan and is currently in military school and I wished she was here to see it, my thoughts on the franchise has been blurry, not because of....well....obvious reasons that will not be mention, but because, outside of the passionate fanbase and respect for the cast and what they're up to nowadays, it's just doesn't work for me, I don't know if it's because I'm into The Owl House more (streaming on Disney+ btw check it out if you haven't, worth it), or because I don't have the nostalgia that older fans have/had. I don't know but it's just me

Anyways watching it again made me realize that maybe I'm naive or something. But then again I have always been this way. Sorcerer's Stone is a perfect opening to the series and it establishes itself so well even 20 years later. If your theater has it, check it out. Worth celebrating one of the most proactive movie series in film history
