Woman at War

Woman at War ★★★

From Iceland, here’s a more whimsical ecoterrorist/extreme activist film than Kelly Reichardt’s overall superior NIGHT MOVES; one could say whimsical to a fault since the italicized cuteness of musicians performing the instrumental score on-camera becomes increasingly tiresome.  Worth seeing for the double performances by Halldora Geirharosdottir and the occasional trenchant observations on how countries seek to control the parameters of the debate on climate change (through print and televised media, looking for foreign scapegoats, etc.) and a somewhat powerful final shot.
