Growing up as a Beatlemaniac born twenty years after the group released their last album (and some years after the original Let It Be documentary went out-of-print sometime in the '80s; it has yet to resurface), the legendary "rooftop concert" has been an Ark of the Covenant-level object of desire for me almost my entire life. Iโ€™m going to wait a couple of hours or so before I decide if Spencerย is my favorite film of the year so far, but itโ€™s certainly going to be in the top two, and Kristen Stewart undeniably gives the best performance of the year as the embattled Princess of Wales. I know this exact thing has been said countless times already, but allow me to lend my voice to the choir: Just give her the damn Oscar now.
