Tyler’s review published on Letterboxd:
I was nervous about watching this film. Mainly because of its lengthy 163 minute runtime. But it never felt like a chore to watch. It successfully depicted mundane moments with crucial subtlety. I applaud this British director for giving the most realistic depiction of America I’ve ever seen on screen. These people are not actors, they are people who literally lived in my hometown. Rap-loving, sleazy, Mountain Dew-chugging, appropriating white trash. Watching them interact felt cathartic. And like the rest of the movie, I felt slightly disgusted—yet, impressed.
