i’m not sure if camille paglia is self-aware enough to be in on the joke but her cameo in this film is one of the funniest fucking things i’ve ever seen....absolute queen shit on dunye’s part

    Saint Maud

this film is a dark comedy about a woman with borderline personality disorder....i may or may not elaborate further on this some day but for now i will just echo charlotte’s review: literally all of the reviews for the film on this site, positive and negative, are absolutely atrocious 😖😖😖

  • The Little Wars

    The Little Wars

don't feel super confident rating this, as i have only a fairly precursory knowledge of the lebanese civil war, but any film that touches on this subject matter in a humorous way is okay in my books!

    Just Beyond the Trees

an omniscient being watches all of time, space, human history.... we are with Them, here is what we have the capacity to see....it is but a tiny pinhole of light, small sounds we struggle to decipher. maybe we will gain enlightenment before nothing can be done.

    Dil Se..

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

found a film to rival pwsa's pompeii for most tragically beautiful romantic ending....(i understand that this film is allegorical lol i am just thinking about those beautiful images so often & in a depoliticized way because i am always telling on myself for being a dumb broad)

although i still have many john ford pictures to see, it feels appropriate to state that this feels like something of a minor work. don’t get me wrong! it's ford so even a minor work is still better than the heights of a lesser director's filmography. one of my fave john wayne performances,,,was amused by a comment on [redacted russian social media site] that said that ford was reluctant to even cast wayne until he saw red river and was so impressed that he exclaimed "i didn't know the son of a bitch could act!!!!".
