Paprika ★★★★½

"Science is nothing but a piece of trash before a profound dream."

Many might have known that this anime was an inspiration to Nolan's Masterpiece Inception. It has that similiar plotline of going into one's dreams and curing or causing mishaps in an individual's subconscious. It isn't confusing or mindbending as Inception but its genuinely trippy and Psychedelic.
My 2nd film by Satoshi Kon, Paprika is a visually stunning and fantastically structured anime film that dwells the viewer into its world, similiar to Perfect Blue. Although the latter was a psychological thriller, Paprika is a mix of Scifi and Fantasy. The visuals in this film are jaw droppingly gorgeous. Everything that occurs in the dreamworld was absolutely mesmerising to look at. The ending was a huge let down for many but not me, however I wished the climax was much more detailed and well presented. Not all questions were answered and it wasn't an ambiguous ending like Inception had...Unfortunately.

Overall, If you loved Inception then this film is a definite recommend.
