Not the trainwreck I was expecting (and the reason I watch it for in the first place), just pretty bland and way too generic to take itself so solemnly.
The only good thing I can say is that the pupils and ears effects were nicely done. The after credits scenes are abominable.
Just goes to show you what a milestone in cinema this is when you already know the paradigmatic scene even if you've been living under a rock.
But once you get past the plot, and even if you know while watching it in broad strokes where the next twist is taking you, there are painstakingly clever and profound visual, musical and screenplay arguments all over the movie about narrative, film, the psyche and human drama, that cement its place amongst…
