Noah Smith’s review published on Letterboxd:
Waititi wonderfully balances his quirky humorous side with a very mature dramatic side. One of the best looking movies I’ve seen all year. I’d swear based on looking at some shots in this it was a straight neo-realist war drama. It looks fabulous. I even thought of The Master when looking at the lighting here, and sure enough when I saw the credits I had to pat myself on the back. Really great colors, costumes, and set design.
It’s funny, sweet, and shockingly mature in its dramatic side (like oof).
