Whatever it is Sion Sono is on I want none of it, mans absolutely haunted. This opens in the most remarkable fashion and then continues to be disgustingly ghoulish and just unsettling throughout. The only bit I wasn't sold on was the Genesis subplot but other than that this was an incredibly well put together and downright uncomfortable viewing.

This was surprisingly a really solid watch! Most anime anthologies that tie into western properties are very marmite. We get a bit of everything here - lore infodumps, prequels to events in the main trilogy and some solid standalone stories. Outside of the first short (and the running one tbh) I think I'd happily watch any of these again. I especially loved the Kid and Dectective stories and funnily enough these were the two directed by the legendary master that…

Missed out on The Last Duel so was excited to see this to get some Ridley Scott goodness on the big screen. But this is an incredibly bloated and kind of boring watch. Awesome performances from Gaga and Leto... One great, one atrocious. But this feels like award bait to be honest and didn't engage me half as much as I thought it would.

A nice little love letter to women's football. (And yes I did seek this out just to get back up too 100% on Céline's filmography)

Beautifully shot and easily some of the most tense moments I've seen in film, short or otherwise. Seeing our lead's discomfort and having that spun around to us seeing his peers' reaction towards the end is just *chef's kiss*

Think I enyoyed this much more on a rewatch, going in knowing its a bit quirky definitely helps in my opinion. The songs are incredibly catchy and Driver is the highlight of this strong cast, selling funny and terrifying at the drop of a hat.

It's always a treat watching this. Absolutely bonkers ideas and action being thrown about and takes itself dead seriously while doing so. That final third is an absolute joyous watch every time.

Not even joking when I say this might be one of my favourite Disney films of all time, or at least my favourite since Wreck-It Ralph. The songs are all going to be earmarks that plague me for the next few months, in a good way! The direction and really punch stylistic choices really clicked with me too. Topping all that off with a story that is incredibly relatable too and it just an all round winner for me.

A return to form in my opinion and glad that Haifaa went back to make a second Saudi Arabian film! This is to a degree just s empowering and feminist as Wadjda but it doesn't quite exceed the sane overall quality. Still a great watch mind you!

A banging coming of age story. I've seen other films, like Beats, which has done this better but the chemistry between the three main lads is flawless. Best of all it's directed by Reggie Yates, yes that one! Which threw my by surprise as it's a really humble directional effort and because this guy disappeared off my radar for the best part of 15 years bless him.
