There are so many things I love about this movie, but the nuance with which this film tells it's story is what makes it brilliant. The tonal shifts are done with precision, making the audience feel the uncertainty and insecurity of the main character.     I was asking myself “how did they do that?!” in regards to the filmmaking from the very first shot of the bedroom. Incredible color, light, acting, visual storytelling, and all with a quiet intensity that kept me on my seat edge. I love the repetition of the hilly texture and the plants and animals. There was so much to see in every shot and boy do you have time to take it all in.

    My overly high rating of this movie is based on 1) seeing only the entire Grindhouse experience in the theater and 2) the cars. The unique violence took me by surprise and I was thoroughly pumped for some wicked car chases, badass women, and a terrifyingly handsome Kurt Russell. Totally delivered.
