“The only thing more extraordinary than their music is his story”

If only his story was articulated in any extraordinary way. I don’t doubt that Freddie Mercury has an extraordinary story, but I am just left wondering where it was. Is that really supposed to be the tagline for the film or are they just making a statement? "It’s being aware of what it means to lose oneself before being completely abandoned.”

The emotional complexity and magnitude of this complicated exploration on repression, power dynamics, psychology and sexuality is endlessly thought-provoking, intriguing and layered. Huppert's work is astounding, using the perfect amount of restraint and expressiveness to fuel the emotional weight and psychological intrigue of this film. Love this film so much. Your experience watching this film is much like the main character's experience with each other. I'll…
