Victor Dubyna’s review published on Letterboxd:
Vincent Gallo’s performance is terrific and gripping, and his character is such an asshole, but he is so compelling and easy to care for, once the film reveals his true character/past/motivations which is so incredibly affecting and well put together. Christina Ricci does really great as well, and their dynamic together is really ridiculous, interesting and touching. Its not a perfect film by any means, as some scenes go on way too long in my opinion, but its quirks, visual style, off-kilter relationship and Gallo’s incredible on-screen presence make this film easy to love. This guy is kind of an indulgent asshole but his films are really intriguing and I have a slight man-crush on him.
